This week is National Activity Providers and Professionals Week. At Broadway House, we salute our dedicated activities team, who bring a collective 43 years of experience to the care of our residents.
Korvette Hinton-Woods, CSW, ADC, Director of Activities, Interns, and Volunteers
“In the time that I have been the Director here, the activities programming has become more innovative and resident centered. We provide more experiential activities, instead of just playing games. We place a good deal of focus on our Sunshine Program, which is designed for those residents who require more support and assistance.”
Robert Hardrick
“I really enjoy conducting chair chi, aromatherapy, and other exercise programs for our residents. It helps to bring them a sense of peace.”
Tashaka Massey
“When it comes to our residents, I like to be the ‘in-house DJ.’ My favorite activity is Moving to Music. I also help our Marketing Director by making sure photos are taken of our various activities.”
Rayna Stephens
“Reading Rainbow has to be my favorite activity to do with our residents. This takes place in small groups, or even one to one. Sometimes I make up my own stories to share.”
Chayjillah Oliver
“Food for Thought is a program I run that helps our residents learn to make healthier choices related to food. We have made simple recipes like fresh fruit parfaits, salads, and fruit smoothies. We will be making peach cobbler eggrolls at our next session.”
