Thirty-nine Broadway House residents are sporting new haircuts, thanks to the dedicated volunteers from TransCare4Us, Inc. The stylists from the nonprofit visited Broadway House recently to provide simple haircuts that brought pride and dignity to our residents.

“We are so grateful to the volunteers from TransCare4Us, Inc., for showing our residents that they are valued and loved,” said Director of Activities Korvette Hinton-Woods, CSW. “A major component of Broadway House’s mission is to give members of the LGBTQIA community the tools they need to live dignified, healthy, and safe lives—a goal that TransCare4Us, Inc. shares.”

Founded in Newark last year, TransCare4Us, Inc. is dedicated to supporting the LGBTQIA community. Volunteers provide vital services for disenfranchised area residents through school-based programs, counseling, education on sexual orientation and gender identity, nutritional information, grooming services, athletic and social events, and safety education. TransCare4Us, Inc. creates diversity, equity, and inclusion through benefits and firm priorities that build a pathway for all people to overcome poverty and live in security.
